Catastrophe Claims Representative

Location: Lexington, Kentucky, United States; hybrid work-from-home flexibility may be available after initial in-person training; frequent travel to catastrophe locations, most likely out of state, is required for up to 21 days at a time.

What you will do

• Investigate claims, assemble facts, determine policy coverage, and evaluate loss amounts.
• Analyze legal liability and decide whether to pay or deny losses.
• Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to determine coverage.
• Resolve claims, including attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials when necessary.
• Ensure claims payments are issued accurately and on time.
• Travel on short notice to catastrophe locations and meet physical requirements, including carrying and climbing a ladder.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of claims handling or comparable experience.
• Field claims experience with multiline property and casualty claims and wind/hail claims.
• Proficiency with Xactimate software.
• Above-average written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to resolve complex issues, organize and interpret data, and handle multiple assignments.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
