UX Design Summer Intern (AI)

Location: Bristol, UK. 12-week onsite internship starting in June 2027. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK for the full programme and must not require visa sponsorship.

Salary: £2,500 per month.

hirify.global builds next-generation AI compute, including semiconductors, software and systems at datacenter scale, and is owned by SoftBank Group.

What you will do

• Create sketches, wireframes and interface designs for AI software used to understand, optimise and debug workloads running on hirify.global hardware.
• Support usability research and turn findings into insights that inform design decisions.
• Create and refine reusable components for the Decagon design library with guidance from the UX team.
• Make technical workflows more intuitive for a specialist audience.
• Join sprint activities, design reviews and research while collaborating with engineers throughout software development.
• Use feedback and open discussion to test and refine designs across the UX lifecycle.

Requirements

• Currently studying towards a degree in UX, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science or a related subject.
• Basic experience using design tools such as Figma or Adobe XD.
• Strong interest in UX/UI design and user-centred design principles.
• Portfolio featuring coursework or personal projects, provided as a PDF or link.
• Clear communication, curiosity and willingness to learn from feedback.
• Right to work in the UK for the full duration of the programme without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Exposure to technical products, user research or Agile working.
• Previous industry experience is not required.
