Silicon Summer Intern 2027 (AI)

Location: Bristol, UK or Cambridge, UK. The 12-week internship starts in June 2027 and includes in-person final-stage assessments.

Salary: £2,500 per month.

What you will do

• Join one of four Silicon teams: logical design, verification, physical design, or design for test (DFT).
• Contribute to real chip development for advanced AI systems.
• Work on areas such as RTL design, SoC integration, verification methods, physical implementation, timing, or DFT.
• Use industry-standard electronic design automation tools and take ownership of clearly defined tasks with engineering support.
• Develop practical silicon engineering skills through hands-on work, feedback, and problem solving.

Requirements

• Working towards a degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Maths, or a related subject.
• Technical skills in C, C++, or Python demonstrated through study, projects, hobbies, or practical experience.
• Interest in AI compute and silicon design, including ASICs, verification, logical design, DFT, or physical design.
• Motivation to learn EDA tools and modern design techniques.
• Curious, self-starting approach with examples from activities or hobbies beyond studies.
• Clear communication and ability to work well with others.
• Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK for the full programme duration without requiring visa sponsorship.
• Previous industry experience is not required; relevant coursework, personal or team projects, hobbies, and other practical experience may be used as examples.
