Hardware Design Engineer

Location: Theale, United Kingdom — hybrid office-based work.

What you will do

• Design and develop digital hardware and firmware for processor-based products from product definition through PCB layout.
• Create schematics and PCB layout designs while ensuring mechanical and thermal requirements are met.
• Conduct schematic and PCB layout design reviews and prepare technical work for lifecycle reviews.
• Perform, document, and report analysis, development, and final verification testing.
• Create design and user documentation and report technical issues and progress.
• Support project schedule and risk management with technical input.

Requirements

• BEng, MEng, MSc in Electronic Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
• High-speed digital circuit design experience.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Good communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with PC motherboard architecture, including 64-bit microprocessors, PCI Express, 100 Gbit Ethernet, and advanced memory.
• Experience with programmable logic devices or FPGA.
• Embedded software experience or appreciation.
• Experience with Intel or ARM chipsets.
