Senior Characterization Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Bristol, UK (hybrid); office attendance Monday–Thursday and remote work on Fridays

What you will do

• Lead planning and execution of bench PVT characterization activities for new product introduction projects.
• Develop characterization plans, select equipment, prepare hardware, and design test fixtures.
• Build and bring up robust automated test environments, execute test plans, and analyze results in real time.
• Generate complex datasets, prepare technical reports, and review findings with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Drive test-method, process, signal-integrity, and automation improvements, including the use of AI tools.
• Mentor junior engineers and share expertise on test equipment, standards, emerging technologies, and advanced packaging.

Requirements

• BEng or MEng in Electronic Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in semiconductor, signal integrity, or high-speed electronics development.
• Strong experience with signal integrity testing for high-speed analogue silicon products.
• Hands-on experience developing test automation with Python or similar programming languages.
• Strong understanding of high-frequency PCB design, measurement techniques, and signal integrity analysis.
• Laboratory experience with advanced electronic test equipment, complex engineering datasets, debugging, and analytical problem-solving.
