Sr DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Location: Pleasanton, California, United States; Flex hybrid work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, or partners.

Salary: $176,000–$264,000 USD annual base salary for the primary location; additional US locations offer $148,200–$264,000 USD.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain hirify.global Community cloud production and development systems.
• Deploy, monitor, automate, and manage enterprise solutions and services in AWS.
• Support developer tools, infrastructure, and monitoring for the software development lifecycle, with a focus on developer efficiency, release velocity, and product quality.
• Maintain accurate documentation of server, storage, networking, software, hardware, and virtual environments to support scaling and production demands.
• Work with Development and QA teams to build and support continuous integration and deployment tooling.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software, systems, or networking development experience, including 2+ years in a dedicated software development DevOps Engineer role.
• Proactive written and verbal communication skills, proven collaboration skills, and the ability to work both as a team member and leader.
• Ability to work independently and self-teach new systems and designs.
• Ability to work periodically in the evenings with engineers based in the IST time zone.
• Comprehensive AWS experience.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD and ability to build infrastructure as code with Terraform, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodePipeline, and CloudFormation.
• Solid experience with Amazon S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, ElastiCache, CDN, and Route 53.
• Understanding and proficiency in serverless environments such as ECS and Fargate.
• Strong proficiency in shell scripting, Python, and Docker containerization system administration and troubleshooting.
• Deep troubleshooting skills involving log analysis, traffic tracing, configuration verification, and automation tools to restore end-to-end system functionality.

Nice to have

• Experience using AI tools for coding, code reviews, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of security, networking, and relational database technologies, including Postgres, MySQL, and Redis.
• Experience deploying and maintaining Discourse and Drupal in AWS, as well as systems within Adobe Cloud.
• Experience with RESTful services, service-oriented architecture, distributed systems, AWS cloud systems, and microservices.
• Experience deploying and maintaining Amazon MSK.
• Proactive approach to preventing future problems and automating processes so engineers can self-service operational requirements.
