DevOps Machine Learning Infrastructure Engineer (AI)

Location: Redwood City, California, United States. On-site.

Base salary: $185,000–$215,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and optimize RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS EKS, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
• Integrate MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and other data sources and services for efficient storage and retrieval.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate testing and deployment processes.
• Maintain on-premises servers and services running Ceph, PostgreSQL, and NFS.
• Collaborate across teams, participate in code reviews and pair programming, and troubleshoot issues across development, staging, and production environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with FastAPI for API development.
• Hands-on experience deploying, scaling, and managing Kubernetes clusters on AWS EKS.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes containerization technologies.
• Experience with AWS services including S3, RDS, and VPCs.
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins.
• Strong understanding of MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and NFS database and storage systems.
• Experience with on-premises storage solutions such as Ceph, Linux system administration, clean maintainable code, thorough testing, problem-solving, and attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Experience with Prometheus and Grafana cloud-native observability tools.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes operators and Helm charts.
• Knowledge of on-premises container orchestration using Kubernetes or similar technologies.
• Experience with DevOps best practices and infrastructure as code using Terraform or Ansible.
