Senior Accountant (CPA)

Location: Chicago, United States. Hybrid position requiring three days of in-office collaboration per week and allowing remote work for the remaining two days.

Salary: $100,000–$115,000 per year.

What you will do

• Support month-end close by preparing complex journal entries, reviewing account reconciliations, performing variance analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and US GAAP.
• Redesign accounting processes, identify inefficiencies, automate routine tasks, and use tools such as Power Automate, Power BI, and AI models to improve efficiency.
• Support consolidated US and statutory UK and French audits as a primary contact for external auditors.
• Manage local accounting firms and coordinate filing requirements and deadlines across jurisdictions.
• Evaluate and implement close management tools such as FloQast and document standard operating procedures for key accounting processes.
• Collaborate with FP&A, legal, HR, and international finance teams on reporting, consistent accounting treatment, acquisitions, and new business lines.

Requirements

• CPA certification.
• Substantial and progressive accounting experience gained within a global or national accounting, professional services, or consulting firm.

Nice to have

• Big 4 public accounting experience or a combination of Big 4 and industry experience.
• Experience in a publicly traded company and/or public accounting firm.
• Experience in a high-growth technology or financial services company.
• Experience supporting M&A integration or post-acquisition accounting.
• Proficiency with NetSuite or similar enterprise accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Organization, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
• High accountability, proactivity, and a change-oriented approach.
