Postdoctoral Research Associate (Cell Biology)

Location: Bryan, Texas, United States; onsite laboratory work with laboratory animals and Biosafety Level 2 procedures

What you will do

• Conduct mammalian cell cultures and downstream protein and nucleic acid assays, including RT-PCR, western blots, and ELISAs.
• Isolate extracellular vesicles from cell culture conditioned medium and study their therapeutic effects.
• Assist with in vivo laboratory animal experiments, including animal handling, drug administration, tissue collection, tissue processing, and histological analysis.
• Conduct research involving type 1 diabetes models, MSCs, and MSC-derived EVs.
• Analyze and prepare research data for primary research articles, presentations, and grant writing.
• Collaborate with researchers, doctors, and laboratory staff while maintaining instruments and a safe IRM facility environment.

Requirements

• Appropriate doctoral degree.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Nice to have

• PhD in immunology or cell biology.
• Experience experimenting with rodents and immune cell cultures.
• Experience in immunology research or extracellular vesicles.
• Knowledge of laboratory room preparation, laboratory techniques, and safety.
• Willingness to work with laboratory animals and learn new techniques appropriate to the role.
• Attention to detail, accurate and up-to-date research records, equipment records, and adherence to established protocols.
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work safely in a Biosafety Level 2 laboratory and follow all A&M System and HSC guidelines.
