Financial Analyst (FP&A)

Location: Hybrid, with 3 days per week in a Guardian office in Hudson Yards, NYC; Holmdel, NJ; Boston, MA; or Bethlehem, PA. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Salary: $82,770–$135,975 base pay, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Own consolidated expense exhibits for annual planning and executive leadership reviews, including materials on drivers, risks, and opportunities.
• Conduct enterprise expense studies, benchmarking, product and department analytics, and business case development.
• Own monthly unit-cost reporting, validate year-to-date expense data, and improve visibility into cost efficiency and performance trends.
• Maintain product allocation methodologies, resolve allocation variances, and support product margin targets with Pricing and business leaders.
• Partner with product, Expense Management, Pricing, actuarial, regulatory, and senior leadership stakeholders on profitability, cost, acquisition, renewal, and ad hoc analyses.
• Support organizational transformation, UAT and enhancements for financial systems such as Oracle, and automation of FP&A workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 4+ years of FP&A, financial analysis, or expense management experience.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including variance analysis and identifying financial performance drivers.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency, including formulas such as SUMIFS and INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables, lookups, and basic modeling.
• Ability to synthesize complex financial data into clear, executive-level insights.
• Familiarity with financial ledger and planning tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in insurance or financial services.
• Familiarity with Oracle Planning, Hyperion, or SmartView.
• Experience working in large, matrixed organizations.
