General Manager, Greater Washington DC Market

Location: Laurel, Maryland; daily presence in the Washington DC office is required, with weekly visits to local businesses taking less than 25% of the time. The market includes the Greater Washington DC area and Baltimore; the office is ideally located in Laurel, Jessup, or Fort Meade.

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day operations of the Greater Washington DC market and oversee P&L and growth-plan execution.
• Drive business development, market-entry and growth strategy, marketing initiatives, and revenue growth.
• Build target lists, cultivate business relationships, develop strategic accounts and partnerships, and communicate with business users.
• Manage the CRM process and identify scalable ways to recruit business users.
• Recruit, hire, coach, and develop the district team as the market grows.
• Resolve operational issues, collaborate with other market leaders, support long-term corporate strategy, and provide product-market feedback to product management and technology development.

Requirements

• Direct experience working in or advising logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing industries.
• Leadership experience with teams, cross-functional projects, or organizations, including responsibility for cross-functional teams, projects, or organizational outcomes.
• Experience developing team capability through selection, hiring, coaching, and capacity planning.
• Upward progression within the same company, such as promotion within one organization.
• At least 5 years of post-university workforce experience; 8 years of work experience is ideal.
• Demonstrated results, including specific examples of outperforming or exceeding goals.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to use direct and plain language.
• Detail orientation and the ability to break down complex problems using data.
• Self-starting, industrious approach; demonstrated mastery of a discipline such as sport or music; eagerness to learn and grow with a winning attitude.
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work in the Washington DC office every day and visit local businesses each week.
• Neither employment at nor process-study experience with a FAANG or other Silicon Valley-based company.
