Global Category Manager (Electronics)

Location: DJO Texas-FIELD, United States; travel up to 25% domestically and internationally, including Tijuana, Mexico. Overnight and out-of-town stays are required.

What you will do

• Manage electronics categories used by the Prevention & Recovery business units, covering approximately $45 million in direct material spend across motors, blowers, fans, power supplies, finished devices, and electronic subassemblies.
• Own commercial relationships with suppliers and serve as the primary supplier contact for assigned categories.
• Analyze spend to identify cost-improvement, supplier-consolidation, material-simplification, and scale-leverage opportunities.
• Lead supplier contract negotiations, budgetary cost-reduction programs, alternate sourcing, and year-over-year savings initiatives.
• Develop long-term sourcing strategies based on total landed cost, region of origin, quality, lead time, and supply continuity, including components approaching end of life.
• Track supplier KPIs for cost, quality, delivery, performance, and innovation while collaborating with cross-functional business partners.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of progressive experience in sourcing and procurement, purchasing, or supply inventory planning, with a proven ability to lead change.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with a global supply chain in an electronics environment, ideally including complex bills of materials and securing components for critical items going end of life.
• Experience with Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, or another common MRP system.
• Experience in negotiation and contract development, including expertise in negotiating critical terms and conditions aligned with category strategy.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills with senior management, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams from charter creation and change management through implementation.
• Experience working with commercial, production, distribution, and customer service teams; knowledge of strategic sourcing and procurement best practices applied to category profitability and supplier performance.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving complex issues, recommending strategies, coordinating executive management meetings, and managing projects and processes across functions.
• Ability to travel up to 25%, including domestic and international travel to Tijuana, Mexico, with overnight stays.

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• CSCP, CPSM, or similar professional certification.
