Technical Project Manager (Software) (Aerospace)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States. Onsite.

Salary: $165,000–$235,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain integrated software development schedules across Flight Software, Ground Software, and other software teams, aligned with spacecraft program milestones.
• Define software deliverables and priorities with engineering leads, track progress, and coordinate work across multiple spacecraft programs.
• Manage critical-path activities, technical and schedule risks, resource constraints, and cross-functional dependencies.
• Facilitate sprint planning, milestone reviews, and cross-team coordination meetings.
• Coordinate software integration, verification, and validation activities ahead of major program milestones.
• Report software progress, schedule risks, and technical dependencies to engineering leadership and program stakeholders; improve project management processes, tools, and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, embedded systems, or a comparable technical role, including 2+ years in technical project management, program management, or coordinating complex software development efforts.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including requirements definition, design, implementation, integration, testing, and release management.
• Experience developing and managing engineering schedules, tracking milestones, identifying dependencies, and mitigating program risks.
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog management, and iterative development.
• Proficiency with Jira for tracking development tasks, milestones, dependencies, and schedules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineers, technical leads, and program leadership.
• Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under applicable U.S. export regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience developing or managing software for spacecraft, launch vehicles, autonomous systems, robotics, or other complex embedded systems.
• Experience coordinating hardware and software integration, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and system-level verification and validation.
• Experience supporting aerospace program milestones, including design reviews, integration readiness reviews, qualification testing, acceptance testing, and launch readiness.
• Familiarity with software release management, configuration management, continuous integration, and automated testing.
• Understanding of systems engineering practices, including requirements management, interface control documents, and verification planning.
• Experience with Jira Plans (Advanced Roadmaps) and Smartsheet.
• Experience managing software development schedules across multiple concurrent programs.
