Technical Project Manager (AI/ML)

Location: Majority onsite in Chantilly, VA and Fairfax, VA; portions of the work may be conducted in a classified SCIF environment.

Salary: $170,000–$210,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead multiple technical and operational projects supporting AI/ML initiatives, data management platforms, cloud modernization, and emerging technology integration.
• Translate mission objectives into project plans, schedules, technical requirements, milestones, and deliverables.
• Coordinate kickoffs, technical exchange meetings, customer briefings, status meetings, and technical discussions with government stakeholders and industry partners.
• Track priorities, risks, timelines, dependencies, resources, metrics, and program performance while resolving blockers.
• Support customer engagements, cloud onboarding workflows, secure tenant deployments, and adoption planning.
• Manage subcontractors, vendors, external partners, documentation, status reports, action trackers, and technical delivery milestones.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with a Counterintelligence or Full-Scope polygraph is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of project, program management, or program technical leadership experience supporting technical, defense, R&D, or government programs.
• Experience managing cross-functional technical teams and coordinating with government stakeholders.
• Experience with data management, data governance, or data pipeline technologies; container technologies; distributed software systems; system architecture; or cloud environments.
• Experience with project planning, risk management, schedule tracking, and status reporting.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Kanban, JIRA, or related project management tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and collaboration platforms, plus strong written and verbal communication skills for translating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently in high-tempo, high-ambiguity environments and manage competing priorities.

Nice to have

• PMP certification or equivalent project/program management certification.
• Security+ certification or another IAT Level II certification.
• Master’s degree in a technical or business-related discipline.
• Experience with AI/ML, Generative AI, or LLM-related initiatives; pilots; proof-of-concept efforts; or innovation-focused technical programs.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, secure cloud environments, IL5/IL6 deployments, classified cloud architectures, and mission environments.
• Experience with scripting or data analysis tools such as Python, Bash, or R.
