Project Manager (All Levels)

Location: Rancho Dominguez, California, United States

Base salary: $70,000–$100,000 for Associate Project Manager; $100,000–$115,000 for Technical Project Manager / Product Manager; $115,000–$130,000 for Senior Technical Project Manager / Product Manager. Salary depends on experience, knowledge, and interview performance.

What you will do

• Support and/or lead client-facing hardware development projects from initiation through completion.
• Develop statements of work, cost and schedule estimates, and contract strategies.
• Translate client needs into technical objectives, schedules, and deliverables while partnering with mechanical, electrical, software, and industrial design teams.
• Manage project plans, timelines, budgets, resources, risks, and scope, cost, schedule, and performance tradeoffs.
• Communicate project status, risks, and next steps to clients and internal teams, own client relationships, and drive client satisfaction.
• Resolve technical, schedule, and interpersonal conflicts and develop long-term client relationships across product lines and product lifecycles.

Requirements

• Understanding of hardware product development and system integration across mechanical, electrical, software, and industrial design domains.
• Ability to apply agile methodologies to both hardware and software development.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts clearly to engineers and clients.
• Experience managing technical risk, cost, schedule, and performance tradeoffs.
• Comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with evolving scope and requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
• Experience working with tightly integrated multidisciplinary teams, either professionally or academically, such as Formula SAE or Solar Car.

• Experience with embedded hardware and controls development.
