Senior Process Engineer (Gears Manufacturing)

Location: Warren, Michigan, United States; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote; must be able to report to the local office.

What you will do

• Root-cause complex manufacturing problems and troubleshoot issues involving product designs, materials, processes, material variances, and production bottlenecks.
• Develop manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling alternatives, operation sequences, and process definitions for efficient production of parts.
• Design, construct, integrate, install, launch, test, and continuously improve plant equipment and tools for high-quality part production.
• Manage project timing and milestones for large programs and projects, while coordinating multiple complex assignments.
• Monitor material flow, apply human factors considerations, and improve the utilization of personnel, materials, machines, and facilities.
• Provide technical direction to outside vendors and implement process or product changes that improve quality, reliability, and cost effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Five years of experience as a Senior Process Engineer, Senior Execution Engineer, Gears Operational Group Leader, Gears Manufacturing Engineer, or in a related occupation.
• Five years of experience in general process engineering disciplines, including the design, operation, control, and optimization of machining processes.
• Five years of experience implementing GMS principles and applying GMS and 4 Walls within a site or program.
• Five years of experience managing multiple significantly complex projects and assignments.
• Five years of experience with gears and gear manufacturing processes.
• Five years of experience with plant-floor and product-design manufacturability.
