Continuous Improvement Engineer (Automotive Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Identify gaps in Best Business Practice metrics and work with plant personnel at all levels to establish and execute improvement strategies.
• Assess current-state departmental and plant value streams, develop future-state visions, and drive and monitor implementation plans.
• Coach the CI team, plant staff, Lean Six Sigma Black Belts, Green Belts, Lean practitioners, and KT practitioners on appropriate tools and DMAIC milestones.
• Establish the continuous improvement profit plan and forecast goals, then drive the team toward achieving them.
• Prepare detailed plans, track project performance, and ensure timely completion of quality, process, and savings goals.
• Develop plant CI roadmaps with leadership, support best-practice sharing, identify new projects, remove barriers, and deliver annual CI goals.

Requirements

• Experience applying continuous improvement methods across departmental or plant value streams.
• Ability to use Lean Six Sigma tools and apply DMAIC milestones.
• Ability to develop and execute improvement roadmaps, project plans, tracking, and reporting systems.
• Ability to collaborate with leadership, Process Owners, plant staff, and CI practitioners.
• Ability to support compliance with standards, implement new systems, and design creative plant-improvement solutions.
