Courseware Developer (Civil Aviation)

Location: Avon, CT, United States; onsite work in an office and training-center environment, with travel to client or training sites up to 10%.

What you will do

• Develop and assemble training assets from approved storyboards, blueprints, and learning designs.
• Create and maintain presentations, learner guides, instructor materials, instructional videos, interactive learning tools, eLearning modules, and supporting documentation.
• Build and publish courseware using approved authoring, content management, and delivery systems.
• Review source materials, identify gaps or inconsistencies, and perform quality assurance reviews for accuracy, completeness, functionality, and compliance with standards.
• Conduct functional testing of navigation, media, and assessments, while supporting updates and sustainment of existing training materials.
• Collaborate with Instructional Designers, Subject Matter Experts, instructors, and other stakeholders during review and revision cycles.

Requirements

• Vocational, technical, or undergraduate degree in Education, Training, Communications, Multimedia Development, Graphic Design, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 3 years of experience developing courseware, training content, eLearning, multimedia learning assets, or instructional materials.
• Experience developing content from approved instructional designs, storyboards, or blueprints.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud tools such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, or After Effects.
• Experience with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline and/or Rise.
• Experience conducting quality assurance reviews and functional testing of learning assets.
• Strong attention to detail, technical, visual, and instructional consistency, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines collaboratively.
• Ability to travel up to 10% and work in an office and training-center environment, including extended periods of sitting, standing, and computer-based work.

Nice to have

• Undergraduate degree in Education, Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Educational Technology, or a related discipline.
• 5 or more years of experience developing courseware or training solutions.
• Knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies.
• Experience in aviation, aerospace, transportation, defense, or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems or Learning Content Management Systems.
• Experience collaborating with Instructional Designers, Subject Matter Experts, and instructors in structured development environments.
• Experience using AI-enabled tools for content development, quality improvement, workflow efficiency, or content analysis.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
