Vehicle Operations Specialist (Automotive)

What you will do

• Monitor hire vehicle performance, including hire duration, costs, extensions, repair timelines, and next actions.
• Identify aged, high-cost, and unusual cases and help reduce avoidable spend while supporting drivers.
• Track cost recovery opportunities and outstanding contributions from manufacturers, dealerships, and partners.
• Analyse hire costs, aged cases, recovery performance, supplier performance, process compliance, and operational workloads to identify risks and improvements.
• Create and maintain trackers, reports, and dashboards using Excel and Google Sheets, improving accuracy and automating manual reporting where possible.
• Provide constructive feedback, support accountability, improve workflows, and contact repair partners when delays affect hire duration.

Requirements

• Commercial awareness and the ability to assess whether operational spend is necessary, sustainable, and appropriately recovered.
• Strong analytical skills, including confidence working with data, spotting trends, and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Organisation and confidence working with operational reporting and performance data.
• Ability to challenge processes and performance constructively while maintaining positive working relationships.
• Basic understanding of automotive repair and service processes.
• Confidence using technology and learning new systems.

Nice to have

• Experience using AI or automation tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, or similar to improve reporting, analysis, or productivity.
