Outside Auto Appraiser (Auto Claims)

Location: Remote within the United States, based in Massachusetts; work takes place at residential and commercial locations, body shops, customer locations, and the nearest hirify.global office. Locations include Braintree, West Bridgewater, Lakeville, Middleboro, and East Bridgewater.

Annual base salary: $65,400–$108,000, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Inspect and assess vehicle damage from accidents, weather events, and other covered losses through virtual and on-site inspections.
• Prepare repair estimates using industry-standard software, reviewing parts, labor, materials, supplements, and repair-facility estimates.
• Evaluate and settle total-loss claims by determining actual cash value through market research, comparable-vehicle analysis, and valuation tools.
• Negotiate repair costs and settlements with body shops, customers, and third-party claimants.
• Identify pre-existing damage, prior repairs, and potential fraud indicators while coordinating repairs and resolving coverage or repair issues.
• Explain the appraisal process to customers, support timely claim resolution, advise claim professionals, and adapt to AI-related technology and digital tool rollouts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Valid Auto Appraiser license issued by the Auto Damage Appraising License Board as required by Massachusetts.
• One year of auto physical damage appraisal or comparable claim-related experience, or successful completion of the required hirify.global Claim Representative training program.
• Active adjuster license, where applicable.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Two years of auto physical damage appraisal experience.
• Proficiency in claims management and estimating software, advanced Microsoft Office skills, and experience with enterprise technology systems and platforms.
• Strong communication, customer service, judgment, decision-making, attention to detail, organization, conflict resolution, stress management, accountability, and ability to learn and adapt quickly.
• Basic understanding of insurance principles and terminology, state insurance regulations, and claim-handling requirements.
