Outside Liability Claim Representative (Insurance)

Location: Remote field position serving the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area; the selected candidate must reside in the assigned territory and work at residential and/or commercial locations, from their primary residence, or from the nearest hirify.global office.

Annual base salary: $67,000–$110,600, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Manage an active caseload of low- to moderately complex bodily injury and property damage liability claims from first notice of loss through resolution, including coverage disputes and contractual indemnity issues.
• Investigate claims by contacting relevant parties, determining coverage, evaluating liability exposure, assessing damages, and establishing appropriate reserves.
• Conduct customer-facing and in-person inspections at residential and commercial locations and communicate with customers, claimants, attorneys, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Negotiate claim settlements, convey settlement offers within authority, and issue timely and accurate payments.
• Handle low-complexity litigation, maintain accurate claim records, and provide training or coaching to less experienced claim professionals when required.
• Adapt to technology implementations, system upgrades, and digital tool rollouts, particularly those involving AI; obtain and maintain required insurance licenses within three months of starting.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least one year of bodily injury liability, property damage liability, comparable claim-related experience, or successful completion of the required hirify.global Claim Representative training program.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Two years of property damage, bodily injury, or liability claim experience.
• Active adjuster license where required by state law, with the ability to acquire and maintain relevant insurance licenses within three months of starting.
• Experience with claims management systems and advanced skills in Microsoft Office and enterprise technology systems and platforms.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service, empathy, conflict resolution, negotiation, organization, attention to detail, judgment, decision-making, and stress-management skills.
• Strong understanding of insurance principles and terminology, policy language, state insurance regulations, claim-handling requirements, and fair claims practices, with the ability to manage a high-volume workload and learn quickly.
