Solution Engineer - Connectivity (IIoT)

What you will do

• Support the design, development, and rollout of machine connectivity solutions and blueprints bridging the IT/OT layer.
• Contribute to research and development activities covering IIoT, Edge, and Cloud computing.
• Create and maintain connectivity blueprints, integration guides, project reports, and training materials.
• Co-organize workshops and knowledge-exchange sessions focused on IT/OT integration and best practices.
• Collaborate with business units and cross-functional teams on planning, execution, and rollout of IIoT connectivity use cases.
• Provide technical and administrative support to the Center of Excellence team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Physics, or equivalent practical experience.
• Understanding of IIoT, Cloud, and Edge computing concepts, ideally in an industrial IT/OT context.
• Programming skills in Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar languages.
• Readiness to quickly learn the Edge and IIoT technology stack.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Customer-centric mindset focused on delivering real user value.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional, international team environment.
• Fluent English in written and spoken communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
• Hands-on exposure to Cloud platforms such as Azure.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Understanding of industrial protocols including OPC-UA, Ethernet/IP, and MQTT.
• Knowledge of computer networks and network protocols.
• Experience with Linux administration and maintenance.
