DBA Engineer (SQL Server)

Location: Hybrid in Wrocław, Poland; 3 days per week from the client's office is required. Candidates must live in or near Wrocław. Readiness for on-call duties and weekend work is required.

Rate: 115–160 PLN/h on a B2B basis, depending on experience: 115–140 PLN/h for 5–8 years and 135–160 PLN/h for 8–10 years.

What you will do

• Administer, maintain, and monitor Microsoft SQL Server 2016+ environments.
• Manage Windows Server hosts supporting the database platform.
• Automate routine DBA tasks with PowerShell scripting.
• Investigate and resolve database incidents and performance problems.
• Participate in the support rota, including on-call duties and weekend work.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of relevant experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2016+.
• Windows Server administration and PowerShell scripting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Readiness to work on a support rota and at weekends.
• Fluent English.
• Polish or EU citizenship, or permanent residence or a work permit valid for at least 12 months.

Hiring process

• One interview with the IT services partner, followed by 1–3 interviews with the bank.
• Technical tasks are completed live; AI tools, coding assistants, and code generators are not allowed during interviews.
• Selected candidates undergo an external HireRight background check covering identity, right to work, education, and employment history.
• Candidates must use the name matching their official ID document exactly and cannot be considered if they participated in a process for the partner or bank during the last 12 months.
