Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Remote, with the option to work from the Warsaw office or a coworking space in your city; occasional travel to data centers required.

What you will do

• Administer and optimize VMware vSphere and vCenter environments, including cluster lifecycle, resource management, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain production PostgreSQL and MongoDB database environments and manage enterprise SAN, block, and file storage.
• Administer and harden Ubuntu and Debian Linux servers across production and staging environments.
• Design retention policies, automate operations, and lead disaster recovery tests using Commvault backup and recovery solutions.
• Automate and standardize infrastructure workflows with Ansible, Bash, Python, and Git while supporting BCP/DR initiatives.
• Participate in paid on-call rotations and collaborate with platform, security, and development teams to maintain high availability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on infrastructure engineering experience in on-premises, data center, or hybrid environments.
• Deep technical knowledge of VMware vSphere and vCenter administration and troubleshooting.
• Operational experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB clusters, including maintenance, replication, backup/restore, and health monitoring.
• Strong practical Linux administration skills with Debian or Ubuntu, including performance diagnostics, security hardening, and log analysis.
• Proven experience with enterprise storage concepts such as SAN, zoning, multipathing, and performance tuning.
• Practical experience with enterprise backup platforms; Commvault is preferred or an equivalent platform.
• Hands-on scripting and automation experience with Ansible, Bash or Python, and Git version control.
• Solid understanding of high-availability architectures and BCP/DR frameworks.
• Readiness to participate in paid on-call rotations and travel occasionally to data centers.
• Good technical English, spoken and written, at a minimum B2 level.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-availability, low-latency environments such as fintech, trading, or telecommunications.
• Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible AWX, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with hyper-converged infrastructure, such as Dell VxRail.
• Awareness of NIS2, ISO 27001, GDPR, and other regulatory or security standards.
• VMware, Red Hat, storage, or backup platform certifications, such as VCP, RHCSA, or RHCE.
