Senior Project Manager

What you will do

• Lead the mobilisation and delivery of complex, large-scale IT projects from initiation through completion, meeting agreed scope, timelines, budgets, quality, and business requirements.
• Track progress, manage budgets, and provide weekly and monthly reporting to stakeholders, senior leadership, programme leadership, and governance forums.
• Build relationships with project sponsors, business and technical stakeholders, internal teams, vendors, and external suppliers.
• Manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, governance, methodologies, supplier performance, contracts, and commercial engagements.
• Lead project teams in a matrix environment and support procurement, tender activities, post-implementation reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to team members where appropriate.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager delivering large-scale IT projects.
• Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Third-level qualification, degree, or diploma in a relevant discipline.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities, including engagement with senior business and technical stakeholders.
• Experience delivering technology projects within complex, matrix-managed environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, project governance, risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
• Experience working with third-party suppliers and outsourced delivery partners.
• Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams and management levels.
• Experience preparing and presenting project updates to senior leadership and governance forums.

Nice to have

• Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent.
• Experience in public sector or highly regulated environments.
• Experience managing procurement, tendering, and vendor selection activities.
• Experience delivering large-scale digital transformation, infrastructure, cloud, or enterprise application projects.
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
