Finance Manager - EMEA

Location: Leeds, United Kingdom; hybrid working with three days in the office and two days from home.

What you will do

• Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes across multiple European legal entities and ensure timely, accurate reporting under IFRS and US GAAP group consolidation requirements.
• Review journal entries, accruals, provisions, accounting adjustments, financial results, variances and external audit deliverables.
• Manage balance sheet governance, reconciliations, intercompany balances and remediation of aged, unusual or unreconciled items.
• Own gross margin and inventory accounting, identify margin improvement opportunities, and challenge processes affecting profitability.
• Execute and review SOX controls, maintain control documentation, support audits and remediate control deficiencies.
• Lead process improvement, automation, finance transformation and KPI initiatives while managing and developing a small accounting team and working with the overseas BPO team.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Significant experience in financial accounting, controllership or accounting management roles.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience managing multiple legal entities.
• Strong balance sheet management and reconciliation expertise.
• Experience reviewing manual journal entries and accounting controls.
• Proven ability to improve accounting processes and strengthen financial controls.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel and financial systems experience.

• Experience working within a US-listed organisation or reporting into a US GAAP parent company.
• Experience operating in a SOX-controlled environment.
• Shared service centre and global process experience.
• Experience leading finance transformation initiatives.
• Knowledge of audit and regulatory compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
