National Route Planner (Logistics)

Location: Bedford, MK44 3JZ, United Kingdom. Full-time office-based role with office hours from 08:30 to 17:30.

Salary: £33,925.00 per annum.

What you will do

• Schedule cost-effective daily routes through PTV Route Optimiser for collections, deliveries, and returns.
• Maximize fleet productivity, optimize transport costs, and ensure customer SLAs are consistently met or exceeded.
• Create daily and monthly reports analyzing collection and delivery performance, productivity, MPM, driver and subcontractor usage, and costs.
• Maintain routing software settings to achieve optimum performance and meet or exceed internal KPI targets.
• Engage with subcontractors and yards to maintain appropriate performance levels.
• Identify and implement improved ways of working with route scheduling.

Requirements

• Previous route planning experience using route software.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to create meaningful Excel reports.
• Demonstrable experience of working to achieve or exceed KPI targets.
• Proven ability to identify new ways of working and make improvements with route scheduling.
• Good geographical knowledge.
• Full proficiency with Excel and Microsoft packages.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Nice to have

• Experience working in the vehicle recovery industry.
• Experience using PTV or similar routing software, preferably in a multi-site operation.
