Systems Administrator (Broadcast Studio Environment)

Location: Alexandria, VA (On-Site). Occasional evenings and weekends may be required based on project needs. Public Trust clearance required.

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, monitor, and optimize switches, routers, firewalls, wireless systems, and other network infrastructure for a broadcast studio.
• Integrate network solutions with broadcast servers, video routers, encoders, and IP-based audio/video systems; support multicast and IP video streaming.
• Integrate cloud-based video storage, editing, and streaming services with on-premises systems.
• Manage network subscriptions, software licenses, cloud services, third-party tools, user accounts, access controls, renewals, and account health.
• Provide real-time support during live broadcasts, resolve network and display issues, maintain documentation, and coordinate with technical, creative, IT, and vendor teams.
• Lead network upgrades, expansions, procurements, service evaluations, and staff training while maintaining security, patching, audits, and compliance.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of network engineering experience focused on broadcast or media environments.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and network hardware such as Cisco and Juniper.
• Experience with network monitoring tools, firewall management, and wireless network technologies.
• Experience managing network accounts, subscriptions, and digital content for monitors and kiosks.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure in a live broadcast environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
• Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud-based video services such as AWS Media Services or Azure Media Services.
• Experience with subscription management platforms.
