UNIX/Linux Systems Administrator

Location: Dahlgren, VA, United States; onsite support in a DoD environment.

What you will do

• Administer and maintain UNIX/Linux systems, networks, and software environments.
• Perform system backup and recovery operations to support data integrity and business continuity.
• Install, update, configure, and manage operational systems and commercial off-the-shelf software.
• Implement security management and library management procedures.
• Install and configure hardware components and operate systems across different operating environments.
• Perform sizing, performance tuning, resource allocation, and hardware, software, and network troubleshooting using TCP/IP and network security tools.

Requirements

• At least three years of professional experience administering UNIX and/or Linux systems, networks, and software systems.
• Experience with system backup and recovery, basic software management, security management, and library management.
• Experience installing and configuring hardware, managing operational systems and COTS software, and operating computer systems across different operating environments.
• Experience with sizing, performance tuning, resource allocation, and hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience with network protocols including TCP/IP and major network security tools.
• Must be able to obtain or currently hold an Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II designation.
• Active Top Secret (T5) clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Relevant technical certifications aligned with IAT Level II requirements, such as CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent.
• Experience supporting DoD or government systems in a classified environment.
