Windows System Administrator (Senior-Level)

Location: Adelphi, Maryland, United States; non-remote; relocation assistance available.

Salary: USD 120,000–140,000 yearly.

What you will do

• Administer, maintain, secure, and optimize Windows Server systems in enterprise and classified environments supporting Army Research Laboratory systems.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, DNS, DHCP, enterprise authentication, and endpoint management through MECM/SCCM.
• Install and maintain Windows operating systems, server platforms, enterprise applications, patches, updates, and software deployments in accordance with DoD and cybersecurity requirements.
• Develop PowerShell automation, monitor performance, troubleshoot complex hardware, software, operating system, and network issues, and provide Tier III escalation support.
• Implement STIGs and security hardening, conduct security audits and vulnerability remediation, and support vulnerability scanning, risk mitigation, incident response, and accreditation efforts.
• Plan and test backup and recovery procedures, maintain technical documentation and architecture diagrams, and support infrastructure modernization and technology refresh initiatives with government stakeholders.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance.
• IAT Level II certification or higher under DoD 8570/8140 requirements, such as Security+ CE, SSCP, GSEC, CCNA Security, or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree with seven years of relevant experience, or ten years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Extensive experience administering Windows Server environments in enterprise settings.
• Experience supporting Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise Windows infrastructure.
• Experience implementing STIG compliance and security hardening, performing system patching, vulnerability remediation, and configuration management.
• Experience using PowerShell for automation and administration.
• Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies and RMF.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Nutanix administration and virtualization platforms.
• Experience configuring and administering IIS, retrieving, applying, and validating STIGs, and using STIG Viewer, SCAP Compliance Checker, and EvaluateSTIG.
• Experience supporting Windows Server solutions through deployment and sustainment phases, including COTS/GOTS applications.
• Experience supporting Linux-to-Windows migration projects and working knowledge of Linux administration and command-line operations.
• Experience troubleshooting custom-developed applications and administering MECM/SCCM.
