Buyer (Aerospace)

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; onsite role involving supplier site visits.

Salary: CAD 55,300–79,900 per year.

A manufacturer specializing in helicopter securing and traversing systems, marine hangar doors, sonar handling systems, towed line array systems, sonar domes, towed bodies and fairings, and aviation support systems for the world's navies.

What you will do

• Purchase materials, supplies, and services while coordinating with manufacturing, planning, and engineering departments.
• Evaluate bids, select and recommend suppliers, and negotiate price, delivery, quality, and service terms.
• Follow up on purchase awards through order completion.
• Resolve supplier issues involving damage claims, rejected or returned materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes.
• Conduct supplier site visits and assess production capability, performance, and delivery.
• Ensure purchasing and shipment activities comply with corporate policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements

• Previous sourcing or procurement experience within the aerospace and defense industry.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend engineering drawings and documents.
• Hands-on experience with MRP systems and materials planning.
• University degree in Business Administration or Management.
