Senior IT Project Manager ERP (m/f/d) (Microsoft Dynamics 365)

Location: Munich, Germany; hybrid work with mobile working and variable working hours. International travel is required in line with rollout and go-live requirements.

What you will do

• Lead the IT delivery of the global Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP implementation across in-scope entities and countries, managing scope, schedule, budget and quality.
• Own the integrated implementation plan covering the global template, country and entity rollouts, milestones, resources, dependencies and critical path.
• Run project governance, including status reporting, risk and issue management, change control, financial forecasting and steering committee escalation.
• Coordinate functional and technical workstreams covering solution design, configuration, extensions, integrations, data migration, security, environments and testing.
• Plan deployment waves, cutover rehearsals, production cutover and go-live readiness, including go/no-go recommendations.
• Manage implementation partners, business readiness, training, hypercare and the transition into application support and IT operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• Several years of experience leading complex, international ERP implementations, ideally multi-entity or multi-country rollouts, through go-live and stabilization.
• Predominantly in-house ERP experience leading projects from the client side within an IT organization.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP and working knowledge of Microsoft Success by Design and D365 implementation governance.
• Understanding of global template approaches, fit-to-standard delivery, localization requirements and phased rollout strategies.
• Knowledge of finance and controlling (FI/CO), including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, cost and management accounting, financial closing, and integration with procurement, sales and supply chain modules.
• Knowledge of IT delivery and change processes, including release and deployment management, IT change management such as ITIL-based processes, and transition into operations.
• Experience with agile and waterfall approaches and combining them in a hybrid ERP delivery model.
• Practical experience with data migration, enterprise integrations, end-to-end testing, cutover and transition to support.
• Ability to manage implementation partners, project budgets and change requests, while leading cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Strong executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills, with a structured approach to presenting status, risks, options and decisions.
• Analytical, structured and resilient approach, with the ability to balance global standards with local business needs and resolve delivery conflicts.
• Business-fluent German and English.
• Willingness to travel internationally according to rollout and go-live requirements.

• Master’s degree, such as an MBA.
• Project or program management certification, such as PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2 or Agile/Scrum.
