Principal Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote; listed locations include San Francisco, Seattle, New York, and Canada. hirify.global can hire in any country where it has a legal entity.

Salary: US base salary ranges from $174,051–$227,233 in Zone C to $209,700–$273,775 in Zone A; Canada base salary ranges from CA$172,800–CA$225,600. The role may also include benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

What you will do

• Own customer-facing product experiences end to end across the full stack, from ambiguous problems to shipped and measured outcomes.
• Lead technical strategy and implement large-scale features and systems.
• Partner with product, design, data, and engineering to shape product strategy and direction.
• Evaluate trade-offs across correctness, robustness, performance, and customer impact.
• Contribute to system design, code reviews, documentation, security, performance, and reliability best practices.
• Mentor engineers and help develop the engineering organization.

Requirements

• 10+ years of full-stack experience in product and platform engineering.
• Proven ability to architect, build, and operate large-scale distributed systems and user-facing applications.
• Extensive experience establishing operational excellence, automated testing strategies, production telemetry, and service reliability.
• Strong product and UX mindset.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and partner across teams and organizations toward business outcomes.
