Senior / Staff Full-Stack / AI Engineers (AI)

Location: San Francisco, United States. Hybrid listing; the role is expected to work from the designated Suno SF office 5 days per week. Applicants must be eligible to work in the US.

Salary: $228K–$363K base salary, plus equity.

Suno is a consumer entertainment product company building an AI-powered music creation platform and song creation agent.

What you will do

• Build and operate the backend for an AI agent that plans multi-step requests and calls music models and audio tools.
• Design evaluations, datasets, graders, and release gates for nondeterministic agent behavior, and determine whether changes are ready to ship.
• Develop data pipelines that support the agent and its evaluations in collaboration with ML engineers.
• Create internal TypeScript and React tools for running and reviewing evaluations and model output.
• Provide on-call and launch support for a high-traffic production system and help onboard new engineers.
• Ship features that help users turn ideas into music.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience building and scaling general backend systems in production, including services at scale, observability, and on-call ownership.
• Experience shipping and operating an LLM-powered agent or feature in production for external or internal users, including multi-step tool calling.
• Experience building evaluations for nondeterministic systems, such as regression sets, graders, or LLM judges, and using results to decide what ships.
• Comfort working on a small production-focused team, handling ambiguity, unblocking yourself, and collaborating with ML engineers, PMs, and partner teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python backends.
• Experience building internal tools or dashboards in TypeScript and React for reviewing model output.
• Experience with audio, music, or other media generation systems.
• Experience with LLM tracing and observability tools.
