Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack (AI)

Location: Fully remote within the United States; must be based in and authorized to work in the U.S. The role may require in-person interviews in Austin, Texas. At least four hours of daily overlap with the team's core hours is required.

What you will do

• Lead multi-sprint projects from problem definition and design through rollout, including planning, scoping, MVP decisions, tradeoffs, and customer-impact measurement.
• Build and operate product capabilities across React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and AWS, supported by system design documents and decision records.
• Use AI coding agents and assistants for codebase exploration, scaffolding, testing, debugging, refactoring, migrations, code review, and engineering automation while verifying all generated code.
• Own production systems through observability, feature flags, rollback paths, on-call rotation, incident response, postmortems, and technical-debt planning.
• Apply privacy and security by design, including data minimization, residency, retention, access controls, secure coding, and vulnerability remediation.
• Review code and designs, mentor engineers, improve testing and operations practices, interview candidates, and help define responsible AI-tool usage.

Requirements

• Typically 5+ years building and shipping production software, with emphasis on owned outcomes rather than years alone.
• Experience leading multi-sprint projects from design to production in a team setting.
• Strong JavaScript/Node.js and React experience, plus solid relational database skills; PostgreSQL is preferred.
• Strong system-design fundamentals, including data modeling, API design, and evaluating tradeoffs.
• Experience owning production systems, including on-call, incident response, and observability.
• Hands-on daily use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot, with concrete examples of improving individual or team effectiveness and verifying output.
• Experience mentoring other engineers.
• Strong written communication in a remote, async environment.
• Customer-focused product judgment, ownership of outcomes, comfort with ambiguity, clear writing, documentation, async communication, direct and kind feedback, and continued learning about AI-assisted software development.

Nice to have

• AWS experience with ECS/Fargate, Lambda, S3, or RDS, especially multi-region or data-residency work.
• Experience with privacy, security, or compliance-sensitive B2B SaaS, including GDPR, CCPA, or SOC 2.
• Experience building AI-powered automations, agent workflows, or LLM-based product features.
• Experience with Redshift, Athena, or event-driven architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD, preview or ephemeral environments, or end-to-end testing with Cypress.
