Engineering Manager (AI/Healthcare)

Location: Mountain View, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, California, United States

Estimated base salary: $200,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Lead and grow the Provider Pod by recruiting, coaching, and developing a high-performing full-stack engineering team.
• Own roadmap execution for AI-powered scribe documentation, a conversational clinical assistant, reusable AI skills, and core provider workflows.
• Set technical direction across Python backend services, TypeScript/React product surfaces, data systems, cloud infrastructure, containers, and AI/LLM workflows.
• Partner with Product, Design, clinical experts, AI/ML, Data, Platform, and Air Billing to deliver features for real clinical environments.
• Establish practices for planning, code quality, testing, deployment, observability, security, and performance.
• Mentor technical leaders, support on-call and incident response, and foster a high-ownership engineering culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years managing or formally leading engineers.
• Proven success hiring, coaching, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong full-stack technical depth across Python, TypeScript/React, APIs, data systems, containers, and cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs or shipping AI-powered features in production.
• Experience driving complex, user-facing products from early ideation through successful production deployment.
• Strong product judgment, communication, and cross-functional leadership in fast-moving environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with EHRs, clinical software, healthcare interoperability, or regulated environments such as HIPAA and SOC 2.
