Engineering Manager (AI Observability)

Location: New York, NY; on-site

Annual salary: $200,000–$250,000

What you will do

• Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team while fostering collaboration, ownership, and accountability.
• Define the long-term technical direction of LangSmith and ensure the platform’s scalability, reliability, and technical excellence.
• Partner with product and design to define scope, sequencing, and success criteria for key initiatives.
• Lead by example by writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in Go, Python, and TypeScript.
• Engage directly with customers and translate their needs into actionable product improvements.
• Strengthen the engineering culture through mentorship, high-quality code, urgency, and focused execution.

Requirements

• Experience managing or tech-leading teams delivering complex full-stack products.
• Strong technical background in Go or Python and React or TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of Postgres, Redis, and ClickHouse databases.
• Proven ability to design high-throughput, data-intensive systems.
• Bias toward shipping quickly and learning from customers.
• Strong communication skills, including collaboration with internal stakeholders and direct customer engagement.
