Electric Program Manager, Expert

Location: Hybrid, anywhere within the Oakland/Dublin service territory; expectation of at least 2 days in Oakland/Dublin.

Salary: $87,000–$200,000 annually, with a midpoint of $126,000; eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Manage special programs, major cross-functional projects, and strategic initiatives supporting safe, reliable, and affordable electric operations.
• Develop Substation Work Execution strategy, program governance, business management practices, and overall program direction.
• Partner with Electric Operations leadership on day-to-day matters, short- and long-term planning, and strategic issues.
• Define performance metrics, create reports and dashboards, and present updates to senior management to address issues and gain support for solutions.
• Develop complex data models, communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences, and integrate industry data into business decisions.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews, draft contracts, and develop or revise scopes of work to establish compliance standards and deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least seven years of relevant experience.
• Program management experience, including the ability to work autonomously on unique and complex problems and lead internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience with project management, communication, teamwork, management of change, and change management.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas using a variety of media and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Nice to have

• PMP certification.
• Utility or energy industry experience and advanced understanding of industry drivers, issues, and trends.
• Technical knowledge of Electric Operations Transmission, Distribution, and Substation functions.
• Knowledge of safety and compliance requirements and ability to communicate safety expectations effectively.
• Strong customer focus, oral and written communication, interpersonal, collaboration, presentation, stakeholder influence, relationship-building, and matrix-organization skills.
• Expert analytical problem-solving, decision-making, continuous improvement, and process improvement skills.
• Advanced skills with MS Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, Project or Primavera P6, SAP, and Unifier.
