Complex Strategic Program Manager (Private Cloud)

Location: Hybrid, with an average requirement of 2 days per week in an HPE office in Spring, Texas; Durham, North Carolina; Ft. Collins, Colorado; Roseville, California; or San Jose, California. Global travel of up to 20% is required.

Base salary: USD 147,000–279,000 annually in Colorado; USD 158,500–321,000 annually in California; USD 140,000–321,000 annually in North Carolina and Texas. Variable incentives may also be offered.

What you will do

• Lead large-scale, multi-site private cloud programs as a single integrated delivery program across compute, storage, networking, software, services, partners, and customer teams.
• Engage during pre-sales to ensure solutions are deliverable as sold and lead handoffs from pursuit through order, factory build, deployment, migration, and managed services operations.
• Own the integrated master schedule, coordinating product release timelines, material availability, dependencies, factory builds, deployments, migration waves, cutovers, rollback planning, and hypercare.
• Lead stakeholder governance, go/no-go readiness reviews, executive communication, customer communications, and alignment across teams without direct authority.
• Identify issues, assess business impact, develop recovery plans, and partner with leadership and executive sponsors to resolve risks.
• Maintain the RAID log, drive formal scope, schedule, and cost changes, and recover troubled or at-risk programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent practical experience is also considered.
• 10+ years of experience leading complex global infrastructure programs, including data center and/or private cloud implementations, in geographically distributed environments.
• Working knowledge of compute, enterprise storage, networking technologies, and private cloud or virtualization operating models.
• Demonstrated success assessing, stabilizing, and recovering troubled or at-risk programs.
• Extensive program management experience with Waterfall and/or Agile methodologies, including integrated scheduling, RAID management, financial oversight, resource planning, and dependency management.
• Experience leading large-scale migration and cutover initiatives across multiple locations and time zones.
• Strong customer relationship management and executive stakeholder communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, ServiceNow, Confluence, and SharePoint.
• Willingness to travel globally up to 20% for customer engagements and major implementation milestones.

Nice to have

• Experience with security and compliance requirements, including security accreditation, ATO, STIG hardening, NATO standards, and vulnerability management practices.
• Experience delivering programs in regulated industries; government contracting experience and active security clearances are highly desirable.
• Background in data center exit, consolidation, cloud migration, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Understanding of data center deployment activities such as site readiness, rack and stack, cabling, provisioning, and systems integration, including oversight of Deployment Services teams.
• PMP, ITIL, Agile, or related professional certifications.
