Sr. Category Manager, Technology Sourcing (AI)

Location: Hybrid, 2 days per week in office; must be based in Bellevue, Washington, or the San Francisco Bay Area.

Salary: $130,000–$178,000 annual base salary for California excluding the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington; $116,000–$160,000 annual base salary for other stated locations. What you will do

• Develop and lead sourcing strategies for Software, Network, SaaS, IaaS, Telephony, AI, and related technology categories.
• Lead complex, high-value RFx events, supplier evaluations, sourcing projects, and commercial contract negotiations.
• Negotiate project-level commercial terms and partner with Legal on Master Service Agreements and related exhibits.
• Drive cost optimization, economic analysis, supplier performance, and internal and external risk mitigation.
• Build strategic relationships with senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners in Finance, Legal, Security, and Privacy.
• Build spend-analysis models, brief leadership on strategy and savings, and mentor junior sourcing team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Technology Sourcing and Procurement, including Infrastructure, SaaS, Telecom, IaaS, AI, category management, strategic sourcing, vendor management, or risk management in a large, global company environment.
• Ability to independently lead complex contract and commercial term negotiations, with a deep understanding of technology contract law, commercial terms, and risk requirements.
• Ability to manage the most complex, highest-dollar, or highest-risk sourcing projects end to end with minimal oversight.
• Experience mentoring or guiding junior category managers or sourcing staff.
• Ability to build data models and spend analyses, present recommendations in an executive-ready format, and support senior leadership decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including building trust and alignment with senior stakeholders, cross-functional partners, and key vendors.
• Experience owning strategic relationships with the highest-spend or most critical suppliers and serving as an escalation point.
• Advanced proficiency with sourcing and contract systems such as Workday Strategic Sourcing/Scout, Coupa, and Ironclad, including improving their use across category management.

Nice to have

• CSCP, CPSM, CPIM, or similar professional certification.
• Experience with M&A-related sourcing, contract novation, and consolidation.
• Experience improving sourcing processes or policies at scale.
• Proficiency with analytics and reporting and a strong data-oriented approach to category strategy and negotiations.
• Experience with ERP and financial systems, including Coupa and Workday Strategic Sourcing/Scout.
• Ability to travel as needed.
