Project Manager / Strategy Lead (AI)

Location: Ontario, Canada. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of hire. Employment-based sponsorship is not provided.

Salary: $110,000–$160,000 CAD per year.

What you will do

• Lead Financial Services strategy and advisory engagements, framing business problems, shaping AI and automation roadmaps, and building business cases for executive sponsorship.
• Run discovery through stakeholder interviews, process assessments, opportunity sizing, executive workshops, use-case prioritization, and future-state design.
• Establish PMO structures, governance forums, reporting cadences, and integrated program plans across RPA, agentic workflows, Generative AI, Data Science, and Data Engineering workstreams.
• Manage milestones, dependencies, critical path, risks, issues, change control, scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, forecasts, commercial performance, and financial risk.
• Serve as the primary client contact and communicate program status, decisions, priorities, and recommendations to business stakeholders, technical teams, senior leadership, and C-suite executives.
• Oversee intelligent automation, RPA, agentic AI, ML, and data delivery while translating between business outcomes and technical architectures.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of combined consulting and project or program management experience, including at least 3–5 years in management consulting, strategy, or advisory roles.
• Experience leading large-scale digital transformation, automation, or AI/ML programs.
• Experience managing enterprise Financial Services engagements in a consulting or system integrator environment.
• Ability to lead strategy and discovery, facilitate executive workshops, structure ambiguous problems, synthesize findings into recommendations and roadmaps, and build business cases.
• Hands-on use of AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude for discovery, analysis, and deliverable creation.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML delivery lifecycles, including model development, MLOps, and LLM integration.
• Track record of managing cross-functional teams of 15 or more people across multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Hands-on experience with Agile, Scrum, and SAFe, including hybrid Agile-Waterfall environments.
• Experience with program financials, budget ownership, P&L tracking, and commercial or contract management.
• Exceptional communication, workshop facilitation, and executive presentation skills, with the ability to adapt communication for engineering teams, business sponsors, and C-suite audiences. Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, and MS Project.

Nice to have

• Experience managing AI, Generative AI, or automation programs in a client-facing delivery context.
• Experience managing distributed offshore-onshore teams across multiple time zones.
• Knowledge of pre-sales processes, including proposals, effort estimates, and client solution presentations.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent relevant experience; an MBA is a plus.
• PMP, PRINCE2, PgMP, or equivalent program management certification; Agile certifications such as SAFe SP or CSM are a plus.
