On-Call Lead Product Manager

Location: Nationwide remote within the United States; Reston, Virginia is listed as the location. Candidates must reside in the United States and be authorized to work there.

Pay range: $108,476–$184,409 annually based on full-time employment. The on-call schedule may range from 0 to 30 hours per week depending on workload.

What you will do

• Lead federal client engagements, shape Agile teams and processes, and drive product backlogs toward valuable outcomes.
• Represent and adapt the product management playbook across consulting engagements and delivery contexts.
• Identify client and product needs, clarify goals, and rapidly develop subject-matter understanding for new programs.
• Facilitate workshops and conversations with internal and external experts to support discovery, decisions, and stakeholder buy-in.
• Create product vision, strategy, process, outcome, progress, and high-level requirements artifacts for varied audiences.
• Plan Agile work across multiple workstreams, balance discovery and delivery, mentor colleagues, and contribute to proposals and product-practice initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in a digital product delivery role.
• At least 3 years of direct product management or product strategy experience on an Agile team, such as a product owner or product manager.
• At least 2 years of experience in a professional consulting role.
• At least 1 year of experience leading virtual workshops using human-centered design, design thinking, or generative brainstorming techniques.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience on integrated, cross-functional Agile teams including user research and UX design subject-matter experts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and consensus-building skills.
• Proficiency with product management and collaboration tools including JIRA, Confluence, and Mural.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance and residence in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience working with distributed, remote-first teams.
• Experience with federal contracts across engagement models and team sizes, including custom open-source development, low-code/no-code solutions, data projects, and management consulting.
• Agile product management training or certifications such as SAFe POPM, Pragmatic, Product School, or equivalent.
