Technical Product Manager (Appian)

Location: Fully remote within the United States.

Salary: $175,000–$190,000 annually.

What you will do

• Manage the full software development lifecycle for assigned products or product suites, from requirements gathering through testing and production release.
• Build and maintain product roadmaps, facilitate prioritization, and translate high-level product vision into detailed action plans.
• Lead or support sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and Agile execution.
• Coordinate engineering, design, data, QA, operations, delivery partners, subcontractors, vendors, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
• Analyze product usage, define KPIs, optimize user experience, remove blockers, and track delivery progress.
• Manage multiple projects, including planning, risk mitigation, training, communication, status reporting, documentation, discovery, and solution advising.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience, or commensurate experience.
• 5+ years of experience developing on the Appian platform.
• Certified Appian Lead Developer.
• Experience managing products or product suites from requirements gathering through testing and production release.
• Experience building products or complex feature sets from the ground up and delivering incrementally against product direction and goals.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, including building slide decks and communicating with executive leadership.
• Strong Agile Project Management knowledge and experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Agile tools such as Jira.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree and/or applicable certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or SAFe Agile.
• Ability to articulate the difference between product management and project management with concrete examples of both.
• Strong emotional intelligence and ability to tailor communication and explain technical concepts across interdisciplinary teams.
• Prior experience delivering solutions on the Appian platform.
