Staff Platform Engineer (Cloud)

Location: Hybrid in Los Angeles/West Hollywood, California; telecommuting may be permitted, but when not telecommuting, work must be performed at 8833 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, California 90069.

Salary: $160,513.00–$192,835.00 per year.

What you will do

• Design, implement, support, and improve infrastructure components, including AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD platforms, and third-party solutions.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and maintain reliable business operations.
• Develop standardized infrastructure, backend, and database configurations focused on consistency, observability, scalability, and performance.
• Design development lifecycle processes with backend engineers, including repository structures, CI/CD workflows, test automation, release processes, documentation, monitoring, and alerting.
• Collaborate with product management, security, IT, and finance on delivery, infrastructure security, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Support technical knowledge sharing, interviews, peer learning, emerging-technology evaluations, and approved infrastructure initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 5 years of experience as a Cloud Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or in platform-focused software engineering, DevOps engineering, or site reliability engineering; alternatively, a master’s degree or U.S. equivalent plus 3 years of this experience.
• 3 years of professional experience administering Kubernetes-based platforms, including multi-cluster environments and cloud-hosted clusters such as EKS.
• 3 years of professional experience administering Linux systems and Linux-based containers, including system performance tuning and operating-system troubleshooting.
• 3 years of professional experience configuring and administering observability tools, including alerts and incident-management ceremonies.
• 2 years of professional experience supporting large-scale microservice platforms, including CI/CD pipelines, observability, ingress/egress, service meshes, and service-to-resource integrations with relational databases, messaging/streaming systems, and caches.
• 2 years of professional experience working with cross-functional teams, including security, IT, and finance, on security, compliance, and FinOps-related tasks.
• 2 years of professional experience with AWS or GCP, including multi-account, multiregion environments provisioned with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• 2 years of professional experience developing software in a compiled language such as Java or scripting in an interpreted language such as Python.
