Accounting Automation Engineer (AI)

Salary: $190K–$235K per year, plus early-stage equity

What you will do

• Own the Finance systems roadmap, prioritize automation opportunities, and lead finance transformation initiatives from planning through delivery.
• Design and deploy hirify.global-first AI agents and workflows for reconciliations, journal entry preparation, accruals, close tracking, variance analysis, and reporting.
• Connect Rillet, Salesforce, Ramp, billing and usage data, payroll, and marketing systems into a trusted finance data layer.
• Build data models, dashboards, integrations, and internal tooling for sales, marketing, cost reporting, bookings, pipeline, spend, and unit economics.
• Run selected corporate accounting activities, including close tasks, reconciliations, complex calculations, Ramp bills, corporate cards, vendor setup, and spend approvals.
• Implement human-in-the-loop controls, audit trails, documentation, runbooks, and training for production finance systems.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of combined experience in accounting or finance operations and finance systems, including leading at least one implementation or transformation from planning through testing, training, and go-live.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying AI agents, LLM workflows, or automations used in production.
• Strong working knowledge of financial close, reconciliations, accruals, and revenue, with the ability to own close tasks.
• SQL skills and experience building data models and dashboards from ERP, CRM, and spend-system data.
• Python or a similar scripting language for automation and integration work.
• Experience with APIs, workflow or integration tools, and collaboration with engineers on technical requirements.
• Ability to explain system designs and data gaps to non-technical executives and support decision-making.
• Ability to design clean data models, sources of truth, controls, audit trails, and exception-handling workflows.
• Ability to work hands-on, own priorities in ambiguous environments, and deliver systems independently.

Nice to have

• Experience with Rillet, Ramp, Salesforce, or a modern data stack including a warehouse, dbt, or BI tools.
• Exposure to hirify.global as a customer, user, or builder.
• Background at a high-growth software or AI company.
• Familiarity with internal controls, SOX, or supporting external audits.
