Senior Analytics Engineer

What you will do

• Scope and develop new client reports and maintain and improve existing reporting pipelines.
• Collaborate with external clients, client success, and the data team to manage reporting requests and improve reporting infrastructure.
• Design, build, and maintain production-grade data models and analytical layers using BigQuery, dbt, and Airflow.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to implement data contracts and observability frameworks for data quality and auditability.
• Write complex SQL queries, build dashboards in Hex or Looker, and conduct ad hoc analysis for operational leaders.
• Provide root-cause insights into business performance and support reporting and performance management.

Requirements

• 7+ years of combined experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a highly technical data analytics role.
• Experience at a technology company or financial institution.
• Expertise in SQL and strong proficiency in Python.
• Proven experience with dbt and Airflow.
• Experience implementing data quality frameworks, observability tools, or data contracts at scale.
• Deep understanding of data architecture patterns such as medallion architecture.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Hex, Looker, or equivalent, plus proficiency in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
• Effective communication with external clients, including synthesizing requests, setting realistic timelines, managing expectations, and pushing back when necessary.
• Strong product mindset focused on the usability, reliability, and developer experience of data systems.
• Ability to solve complex problems independently and build repeatable processes around novel situations.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a similar field.
