Senior Instructional Designer, Dual Literacy (ELA/SLA)

Location: Remote within the United States; may also be based in a hirify.global office. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer within the United States. Project Status Worker role ending 31 December 2027.

Salary: $67,100–$75,000 annually; base pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Plan, develop, assemble, finalize, and maintain instructional materials, curriculum, learning solutions, and digital tools for Dual Literacy programs delivered in print and digital formats.
• Collaborate with content, product management, UX, creative media, and delivery teams to solve complex problems, design product components, and improve workflows.
• Perform quality control on English- and Spanish-language digital assets and manage tasks including metadata tagging, concept mapping, script go-bys, digital editing, course maps, prototypes, and implementation models.
• Create documentation, instructional guidelines, workflow best practices, and requirements for platform and authoring-tool enhancements; identify, test, troubleshoot, and scale digital solutions.
• Train and mentor instructional designers and new team members, oversee vendor and freelancer teams, and manage digital launches and deliverables.
• Support accessibility compliance, user testing, Agile planning, risk management, contingency planning, and trade-off decisions across multiple workstreams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field.
• Experience working with Spanish-language materials.
• 4+ years of experience in digital content development involving teaching and learning materials.
• Experience managing multiple projects with tight deliverables and budgets.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity and influence decisions across scope, quality, time, and resources.
• Experience designing digital platforms and creating learning experiences using authoring tools, learning management systems, and content management systems.
• A solution-oriented mindset focused on practical and effective problem-solving.

Nice to have

• Previous experience as a Spanish, ESL, SLA, or dual-language teacher.
• Previous K–5 teaching experience.
• Curiosity about emerging technologies, including AI, and their application to instructional design and content development.
