Software Engineer III (Java)

Location: Crossman Respect Building CA, Sunnyvale, California, United States; onsite home office.

Annual salary: $117,000–$234,000, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Define high-level designs and technical solutions with product, project, business, and user experience teams.
• Develop, test, and maintain scalable, secure, and maintainable software aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Lead small to medium-sized projects from requirements gathering through deployment, managing timelines and cross-functional communication.
• Troubleshoot production and business issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to users, implement automation scripts and telemetry features, and support continuous integration and delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote coding standards, knowledge sharing, and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and software design principles.
• Strong technical experience with API design, platform development, and component services.
• Experience with debugging, continuous development, iterative delivery, coding standards, frameworks, and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
• Experience creating test cases, managing defects, and developing automation scripts within CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot complex production issues.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate technical status to stakeholders.
• Commitment to delivering scalable, maintainable, and secure software solutions.
• Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area and 2 years of experience in software engineering or a related area.
• Option 2: 4 years of experience in software engineering or a related area.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related area.
• Knowledge of inclusive digital experiences, WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, digital accessibility best practices, and accessibility standards.
