Location: Bellevue, Washington, United States; USA Bellevue Skyline Office, Bellevue Home Office.

Annual salary: $132,000–$264,000, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Deliver infrastructure, tooling, platform capabilities, and machine learning frameworks aligned with roadmap priorities.
• Drive the full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Apply cloud-native architecture principles and conduct system design reviews to build scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
• Build AI-driven applications and integrate machine learning components to enhance automation and platform functionality.
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate complex problems into requirements, define success metrics, and optimize development processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area, plus 4 years of experience in software engineering or a related area; or 6 years of experience in software engineering or a related area.
• Expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation for scalable and resilient systems.
• Strong proficiency in software design patterns, API design, and software prototyping.
• Experience with full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and observability.
• Ability to integrate AI/ML components using JavaScript, Python, Java, or C++.
• Skills in DevOps engineering and platform tooling to improve engineering productivity.
• Ability to use data-driven decision-making to define metrics and optimize development processes.
• Effective collaboration and communication across technical and business stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related area, plus 2 years of experience in software engineering or a related area.
• Experience creating inclusive digital experiences and implementing WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
• Knowledge of assistive technologies, digital accessibility best practices, and Walmart accessibility standards and guidelines.
