Strategy & Operations Principal - Launch

Location: New York City or San Francisco, United States. Requires willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

Salary: $120,000–$160,000 per year, excluding equity or variable pay where applicable.

What you will do

• Own the launch of new transit services, including technology implementation and operational setup.
• Define and manage KPIs covering on-time performance, rider satisfaction, safety, and cost efficiency, and turn performance data into operational decisions.
• Lead a 30+ person team of field operators and drivers through hiring, coaching, performance management, culture setting, and frontline leadership development.
• Manage relationships with transit agency partners, public entities, local officials, community stakeholders, and riders.
• Improve vehicle operations, maintenance protocols, service delivery, costs, and efficiency while maintaining service quality.
• Influence the product roadmap for hirify.global's newest product lines.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in operations, consulting, strategy, technology, or a field involving meaningful client accountability, with demonstrated ability to lead major projects and develop teams.
• Ownership mentality, including planning ahead, managing risks, designing preventive processes, identifying problems, and taking responsibility for fixing them.
• Leadership experience and the ability to motivate and inspire people from drivers to transit agency executives.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously through delegation, prioritization, and personal accountability.
• Strong attention to detail and operational judgment, with comfort working in spreadsheets and in the field.
• Ability to manage complex, high-stakes stakeholder and partner relationships that are not fully within your control.
• Alignment with the mission of serving communities through public-agency transportation partners.
